Colour a child's life
Following last year's successful ‘Colour a Child’s Life’ day in June, 9 volunteers from BDB joined forces with the charity Kids Company to participate in this year’s ‘Colour a Child’s Life’ project on Wednesday 28 September.

The aim of this project is to help underprivileged families create a happier and healthier home environment for their children – a safe haven from some of the difficult experiences they encounter in their lives.
Our task was to completely decorate the home of a young person in South West London who had been through a difficult time but was really getting her life together. She had worked hard to prepare the flat for decoration and all walls were stripped and ready to paint. We carried on a little later than planned to ensure that the work was finished and we all went home tired but satisfied.
The following e-mail was received via Kid's Company as a thank you of her appreciation.
Dear BDB law volunteers,
I would just like to say a very big thank you for the lovely work you have done on my flat! It was such a weight off my shoulders to hear I wouldn’t have to do it all on my own and when I went into see it done it was the first time I did not felt stressed at the sight of it. You have all made such a big difference and I love it thank you so much! I will take pictures when the flooring is done and I’m properly moved.
A big thank you to everyone who gave up their time to help make the day such a success!!
