I read history at the University of Leeds before moving back to London to take a job at the Land Registry during the introduction of the Land Registration Act 2002. Following this I worked as an Intelligence Analyst for the Metropolitan Police Service for 5 years. My greatest challenge during this time was working as part of the intelligence operation which followed the 7/7 bombings. Despite this being a rewarding career, I then decided to fulfill my longstanding ambition to study law, and completed the GDL and LPC at the College of Law in Guildford. Before starting my training contract I also spent 12 months working as a paralegal in the Dispute Resolution department of Capsticks Solicitors.
I was attracted to Bircham Dyson Bell due to the firm’s reputation of valuing applicants with previous career experience, and the diversity of departments. I was also pleased to discover an incredibly friendly atmosphere during the recruitment process, which really strengthened my ambition to work for the firm.
Outside of work I enjoy travelling, most recently I visited Argentina where I cycled through the Mendoza wine region sampling delicious Malbec and steaks. I have also recently become involved in fundraising for a charity called music4children, which uses musical events to raise money for underprivileged children in the UK and Nepal.
