After graduating in French and Spanish from Leeds University, I lived in Spain for a number of years, where my time was mainly spent as a financial translator for KPMG in Madrid. I decided to come back to the UK to pursue a career in law. I undertook the GDL and LPC whilst working at RBS and then the UK Border Agency as a Presenting Officer, defending immigration decisions of the Secretary of State in the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal.

In my spare time I enjoy rock music and going to see bands. I was also a keen drummer until injury and offspring scuppered any plans for stardom. I’m a proud follower of Welsh rugby and try to keep fit by cycling and running around after my toddler son.

I’ve come to law late, but then BDB values ‘non-law’ experience, something which attracted me to the firm. I was also impressed by the down-to-earth approach of the firm during the selection process and the wide range of seats and work it could offer. It was particularly nice to be included in social events before I began my training contract.
